The Parish nurse is a ministry and a professional practice of nursing that is recognized by the American Nurses Association. They serve many roles in the church. A health educator, health counselor, a referral source and a health advocate. As a health advocator they can help church members understand and access health care services. They do not take the place of your doctor, but are able to refer any health questions to your physician if necessary.
